Your Offence Is Fucking Offensive.

Why is everyone so sensitive these days?
For some ridiculous reason we try incredibly hard to protect the way people feel about the things that we say, how we say those things, the nuance of our tone when we say them and even the intonation of our voices. I’m so bored with people taking offence to everything around them. Guess what:
The act of being offended is a choice.
You choose to let your predetermined perspective have an affect on what you hear, see, read and feel. How about making the choice to not be so offended all the time? How about making the choice to engage with a topic instead of judging it? How about you remove your judgemental ideology and open up to the world around you before you get all high and mighty?
For a long time I questioned whether I should swear when I spoke at public events or when I wrote articles. I used to worry, just a little, if I was offending people with my dress code, my opinion on religion, my views on their business models or relationships. It’s taken me some time to realise that offence is taken and not given so fuckit, I’ll just do my best.
I’m making the choice to be as honest as I can about the thing you are asking me. I’m doing my utmost to give it to you straight and not sugar coat the truth with little white lies. If you don’t like what I’m saying then it’s best to not ask me in the first place. Sure, it’s not ideal to walk around offending people all the time but if there are that many offended people then perhaps we’re all just a bit too sensitive?
So…
Fuck you and your offence.
I’m bored of you and your choice of god.
I’m bored of you and your choice of sexual disfunction.
I’m bored of you and your pedestal.
I’m bored of you and your daddy/mommy issues.
I’m bored of you and your offence.
I’m bored of the silence that offence provokes.
I’m bored of the apologies that offence demands.
I’d rather have open and fair debate about topics that offend people so that we can all realise that very little is actually offensive. It all comes down to how we think we’re meant to feel.
Just let go and live a little.
