Ideas are not businesses... BUT THEY CAN BE!

I struggle with a lot of stuff. I'm bad at a lot of stuff. But in my life, I've noticed that I've never struggled to start something or to start to grow something. And this is where a lot of other people get stuck.

Um, specifically relating to businesses, business building, side projects, ideas, and taking them and turning them into reality. I don't have a problem with that. And for most of my life, that's meant that I've been able to build side projects and get things off the ground. And as I've gotten more experienced, something that comes with that experience is the ability and time to coach other people.

And I've resisted this for a while. I I didn't really get fulfilled or fulfillment from coaching people. I mostly got my fulfillment from building things until recently. I figured out that I could do both.

And I want to tell you about no bullship. Yep, no bullship. And why I built it and how it's going and what comes next. Since quitting my job, I have been indexing for enjoyment.

I've been trying to observe myself and see when I get the most pumped up and when I feel the most engaged with the work that I do. And over the last while, that has been when I've been helping other people, when I have been giving people perspective on their own side projects and helping people with accountability to build the thing that they set out to do and pushing and poking and proddding people in ways that get them to rethink the old expected legacy ways that they used to exist and to rebuild new rules because the old rules were just created by people who came before And I believe that everybody has it in them to use agency, to have ideas, to build these ideas into interesting businesses, or to fail and learn some lessons. And part of figuring this all out has been trying to decide if coaching or helping other people is for me. And for a long time I resisted that.

But the more I do it and the more joy I get from it, the more I'm interested in building it into my life and making it part of the thing that I do. So no bullship.co is an accountability community that I'm building to help people turn ideas into businesses. And that's the promise. In 8 weeks, we're going to sprint and hold each other accountable.

And we're going to build the most critical path for us to test and validate if these ideas can go out into the world and get some kind of traction or if it's an interesting idea for these people to continue to build. And so I put a call out a couple of months ago, a few months ago, and I got six people to pay to join this community. And and over the 8week period, uh those six people have turned into five businesses that are live within 8 weeks. and one which will almost certainly be live very shortly after.

And I never thought I'd care as much as I do, but I'm so pumped that all of these people have taken an idea that some of them had for three or four years and in 8 weeks pushed each other to build these businesses and get them live and get them out of our brains into the real world. And so, am I a coach? I don't know. But am I enjoying the idea of coaching?

Absolutely. Am I enjoying using 20 years of experience spent failing and learning all these lessons that I didn't know really where to put into other people's businesses and helping them shortcut all of the mistakes that I made so that they don't have to make them? Absolutely. And I can't tell you how rewarding it is to see people go from an idea and a perceived lack of skill to a business and a whole bunch of new skills that were acquired just by trying.

So the next cohort of no bullship starts in October. And this isn't a video where I want you to sign up. You of course can sign up if you'd like. And I want to help you build stuff.

But this video is more about me and the realization that building things is as rewarding for me as helping people build things. I feel like I've spent 20 odd years learning how to not do stuff to finally tell these things to people who can use the lessons and build their own businesses. I believe that the future belongs to those people who build different sources of income. And I believe that I have the skills to help people build different sources of income.

and I'm having fun doing it. So, no bullship is going to continue to grow slowly and carefully. We're going to continue to handpick the people that we work with so that we have dedicated people to hold each other accountable to ship product. No bull, just shipping.
