Tim O’Reilly Releases Bloggers Code Of Conduct! PAH!

It has been done, one man, one document and 200 million bloggers are going to listen. Pah! Methinks not. Apparently one Mr. Tim O'Reilly has released what many people have spoken about and disagreed upon before; a bloggers code of conduct.I wont go in to much detail here as 901am has done a sterling job in their post.I will go so far as to say that Tim O'Reilly seems to be some kind of megalomaniac hiding in a naive little girlscouts skin.A quote from Tim:

We are committed to the “Civility Enforced” standard: we will not post unacceptable content, and we’ll delete comments that contain it.

Tell us Timmy my boy - Who is going to decide what is "civil" and what is not? In some cultures swearing is A-OK, while in others it is unacceptable to talk about religion. Who gets to decide amongst the 200 million odd bloggers what is acceptably civil?What a daft step in a very, very strange direction I believe.
