Guns N' Roses Pull Out
Which is a nifty title change when talking about Guns N' Roses (GNR). Normally these lovely gentlemen are not pulling out of anything if you know what I mean.In case you are wondering what I am talking about, GNR have pulled out of the My Coke Fest event that has been bloody advertised for the last forever. It has also been advertised with GNR as the headlining band for so long that I don't even know who else is playing. This morning I heard Gareth Cliff on 5fm saying that it doesn't really matter that much anyways, there are still so many great bands. Then tell me, why have they been punting GNR so much over the past 2 months?5fm has also been running a competition that if you win you go on tour with the bands here in SA, as well chat to them, party with them etc etc etc. Most of the entries that I have heard this past week have revolved around GNR. This morning one person enters and focuses on Hoobastank (another international band playing) and they win immediately. This really bugs me, what about all the poor other people who entered but weren't aware of the GNR issue? Now they get screwed out of the only band they wanted to see and they get screwed out of the competition.Computicket is offering full refunds for dissatisfied customers. If you are unhappy then let someone know!
The Coke Side Of Life
I have just recieved and email about Coca-Cola. I am not saying that these little facts are 100% true, but the 'myths' exist and we've all heard a few of them down the line. Interesting either way.
- In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
- You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
- To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
- To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
- To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
- To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
- To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
- To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
