Hi and welcome to my blog! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting and do come back.

I’ve given this alot of thought, I’ve tried really hard to justify blogging on this blog but to be honest, I’m over it.

This blog has made me friends, lost me friends and possible made me more enemies than one blogger needs.

I’m going to continue blogging on SA Rocks and on any blog relating to work wherein I am obligated to blog. This one however, I’m not obligated to blog on. It’s been three years or so and I think that I’ve received all that I can from it.

I am interested in blogging with/for/in partnership with other bloggers and possibly on other blogs/platforms/projects so let me know if you are in need of some controversial rants.

But for now I bid you all good day.

nudjit.jpgJustin, Gregor and I have whipped together a bit of a frenzy around our new blog, Nudjit.

Put simply, Nudjit is a local gadget review blog. Put in a more complex manner: Nudjit is a blog about us as South Africans trying out gadgets and allowing our readers to know how their potential purchases will work out in South Africa. This is a personal experience for the three of us about how we interact with the gadgets we review.

We might not always have the latest, greatest, bestest gadgets but what will almost certainly promise is that reviews and news will be SA-Centric.

We like to think that we have filled a very predominant gap in the market with this blog and are all very, very proud of how it looks, feels and what we have put in to it.

Thanks go out to a long list of bloggers who covered Nudjit yesterday:

To everyone above, thanks for your comments, posts and overwhelming reception of Nudjit!

It is fairly obvious to me now that people have been waiting, dying, anticipating something like Nudjit. Why? Because I’ve been moderating comments for the entire morning!!

Oh, and just a headsup on this one quickly:

Dispatches new site boosts blog ranking

This is interesting. Or at least I thought so.

I noticed that the Dispatch has just launched their new website. The site features a massive focus on their blog, From the Trenches.

In one day this has boosted them up the amatomu.com rankings.

The incredible focus from their website’s homepage has clearly made a difference. I think I’ll try and track the improvement of the blog’s ranking more long term. Interesting study for sure.

Have a look at the spike:

Financial Mail blogging at Polokwane

fmpolokwane.jpg

I have just helped Financial Mail put together their Polokwane Blog for the upcoming ANC Conference.

We have been extremely diligent with the blog and have already posted photos of what is happening at the University of Limpopo.

From the FM @ Polokwane blog:

The FM will be covering the ANC’s National Conference in Polokwane real time on the Internet.

A highly experienced team of four FM journalists will be on the ground in Polokwane keeping track of the most important political event since the ANC came to power in 1994. They will be posting regular news, views and conference snippets to the FM@Polokwane blog during the conference, supported by colleagues in the FM Johannesburg and Cape Town newsrooms.

It is the closest you can get to being at the conference yourself.

So make sure to add the RSS feed for the blog to your feedreader and keep up to date with the happening at the conference.
