This is exactly why I avoid cinema. I much prefer watching a movie on my own 42″ LCD and home surround sound, without the movie F***ing out and without random strangers eating popcorn really loud. Going to a cinema nowadays is just nasty… And of course on top of being nasty, they F*** up the films…

i watch approximately 20 movies a month, provided that many are released. out of these, only 2 or 3 are actually checked during its running time- which is a requirement that goes undone. guys try out the less prestigeous cinemas eg. go to musgrave instead of gateway. somehow the people at these ones just try a bit harder.

Seriously you guys should make the trek out to the other side of the world, I’ve never had issues at either Bedford Center if you want Nu Metro or Eastgate if you want Ster Kinekor! I went to see District 9 on opening weekend at Eastgate and it was amazing, no hitches or glitches and if you do need a manager, they super easy to find (location: right next to the bathrooms)

If you call the number above (08216789), you end up in the callcentre. I tried that and quickly got through to an agent. BUT all he can do is send an e-mail to the manager! I’ve been in this situation before and the only people you can find at night is the one person who waits to lock up who is only able to shrug and look helpless. I understand there is a projectionist and one would expect him to get a look-in on each theater every 15 minutes or so. But that does obviously not happen always.

Cool. Total Exposure (@totalexposure) handles publicity for SK on the exhibition only. We don’t usually deal with complaints but online complaints add a whole new dimension to that old system of dealing with things. Will keep you posted as things develop.

Fork. I would have been SUPER annoyed. I would have walked out. Honestly, I probably would not have complained as I avoid confrontation, but I would have wimped out and thrown my toys out the cot to my husband or someone else I have no qualms about shouting at. I’m a wimp. I know.

Thanks Walter. Appreciate the assistance and am glad someone at SK is aware of the terrible service delivered at Sandton.

To be honest, I am not going to be calling the number they provided. At that point in time (at the movie) I shouldn’t have even had to complain it was so bad. Someone should just have apologised and gotten on with it. Let’s see how this plays out!
