Hi Nic,

Firstly, thank you for attending the launch, and I'm glad you had a great time. Also want to extend my thanks for your blog article. Having an external opinion this soon after the press launch is very valuable to us.

1 or 2 little things. The website not being up sadly was a caching problem. With all of our staff at the media launch, we weren't able to oversee uploading by the web designers, but the splash page was up first thing the next morning.

The WAP page URL (the one I demonstrated in the presentation) was meant to be distributed by Bluetooth node to all the guests. Unfortunately, the node packed up about an hour before despite 2 days of testing. You might have noticed the last slide in the presentation said "turn on your Bluetooth". In that hour prior to guests arriving, we quickly set up an SMS shortcode that would respond with a link to the WAP page (after Al Prodgers' performance, the screen then mentioned "SMS comedy to 31970"). For avoidance of doubt, the WAP page is at www.comedytwist.co.za too.

I enjoyed your criticism on the pay-for-content model. Which model to go for is largely debated and I think the more debate, the better. Given all our market research, this is what we decided would work. We'll find out pretty soon whether our educated guess was educated enough.

I'm glad you raised the "one-click opt-out" tagline. Opting out is certainly not revolutionary, but opting out easily is certainly uncommon. Not that we invented it, but the fact that mobile aggregators have made it so difficult in the past makes it so easy for us to hand ourselves another little advantage.

Thanks again for the article.
