Images of the Gautrain Train

by Nic Haralambous on 25/06/2008

Have a look at the pictures below. I have seen pictures of the digging, burying, building and more at the Gautrain sites but I have yet to see images of the actual train that people will be using.

Here they are:

I thought the train would look a little more high-tech like those high-speed trains in Tokyo etc.

    Scoop!! nonetheless. ;-)

    Hey Bhex,

If you don’t think it’ll work, then don’t use it. It’ll make space for people who actually want to use it and need it. Best you perk up your outlook or stay at home I think.

Eish bafowethu… I am a seasoned train surfer, cannot wait for it to arrive, me and my crew will be surfing on top of the roof from JHB to Pretoria

I think its gonna be fantastic. Its just the beginning, Remember the train system in England started 100 years ago, one line at a time. We on the right track:)

I will sure surf this one, right on it’s first day of launch. Train surfing is in my blood and I can wait to test new territories like the top of Gautrain or the fastest one in Japan.

We as South Africans should be proud. the gautrain is a big project for our country. i was lucky enough to be on one of the “test rides”. it feels great. fast and silent. inside is nice and comfortable. i can’t wait for us to have the next “test ride”.
