Qaton - I wont be repenting any time soon, sorry to dissapoint. I am not supressing anyone's culture, if you want to take that stand point you must look at what you are saying: "Third, this is not Christian at all. This is not Christian entertainment and they are not Christian entertainers." but they still sang a christian song and shoved it down my gullet (Like Jeremy said, I should've changed the channel but anyways). I am being inadvertantly supressed, not the other way round.

Thanks for your comment.

First of all I am a Christian.

Second, you stated "What a load of absolute bullshit," and " how the hell this got on to TV??" I would ask why not? How do you justify your suppression of a large sub-culture of the population? Why is it that your culture would be acceptable but the other one is not? It is the advertisers who are using this people to appeal to the population that will garner them the most cash. It is not a Christian take-over. That is the non-sense of a paranoid.

Third, this is not Christian at all. This is not Christian entertainment and they are not Christian entertainers. There is no such thing. The Bible defines what is Christian, not the mere lip service of some half dressed fools. These are wicked, deceived and foolish as they try to play footsy with worldliness. They have bought into the idea that a true Christian can serve God and play in the world's ways. It is entirely disgusting to me with their immoral and immodest dress, sensual music, sensual movements, and using the name of my Holy God as an form of entertainment. They are showing themselves to have been corrupted by the world's filthiness, and are conforming themselves to the pleasures of this life.

If you truly hated Christianity, you should be happy to see this wickedness. It is a mockery of all that is Christian and Holy. Not only this but all the so-called Christian rock, media and the vast majority of the "churches." True Christians, the very few scattered about, would never watch this unholiness. Don't be deceived by their pious looking faces, or the lip service that comes from their mouths. It is a lie. They are loving the world and hating the true God.

This false presentation of Christianity has sold out to the world and Satan. It doesn't confront unbelievers, you and most others, about your wickedness and your sinful life. It doesn't warn you that a Holy God is going to send you to the Lake of Fire for all eternity because you have rebelled against His sorvereign authority. It doesn't tell you of the horrors of that judgement day that is soon approaching. It doesn't warn you that you are damned to the eternal and mighty wrath of a perfectly righteous God. It should tell you that you have only one hope - the blood of Jesus Christ. The only savior that mankind has. You must repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior, your only hope, or you are doomed forever.

What if one of them was of a belief system that doesn't support the perpetuation of idolatry (which is rampant within divisions of major religions), and as such, chose not to partake in The Beatles evening they hosted? That contestant might have been voted out, then. Tough cheese. That's how it goes. Deal with it, or fuck off. No one forced those people to enter anyway, and no one forces anyone to watch it. And by calling it "secular", you'd need to provide evidence that the show is exactly that, since the credits don't suggest that, and nobody on the shows says it.

This political correctness is getting a bit much.

@Jeremy hahahaha ok, you got me, I was a closet Idol's viewer. Out of the closet now apparently!!

I agree, I think that if they had a more diverse approach to religious outbursts then I wouldn't be bothered, but they don't. It's christian and only christian. You glanced over the question I posed above, what if one of the idols was Jewish, Hindu or another religion and they chose not to sing, they'd be voted out for sure. Not fair, taking away freedom of choice as you are hinging your argument on.

Mazola - I am an open Athiest. I believe that the president (the utter fool/tit/twat/dick) should avoid saying things like "god bless america" and the like. I highly doubt Christianity is overwhelmingly the relgion of choice. But that's just an opinion, no fact to back it up!

But more importantly, Nic, why were you, in the first place, watching American Idols? This is more worrying than that Jesus clan...

Of course I didn't have to read to your blog post; but I chose to. And you gave me the option to leave a comment.

So what if they had a 5-minute gospel moment? (Which I don't think happened again in the series.) Frankly, it wouldn't have bothered me had they done a boring Hare Krishna chorus, or a song about that four-eyed bunny-hugger who needed a burger, Gandhi. If I become a pissy faggot about it, then I'm the one with the problem; not them.

Ye, but then i suppose the same thing applies, if you don't like to hear me have my say don't read it, if you know what I mean. It works both ways. I shouldn't be subjected to preaching on a secular channel and show with a secular goal.

Strangely, I wrote a blog post that is connected.

While I definitely am not someone who prays with my backside mooning the west, I am also not some silly nancy-boy who gets all offended and pissy when American Idols has a five-minute praise-Jesus-gospel-revival moment. It’s freedom of expression. If you don’t like it, change the channel.
