Hi and welcome to my blog! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting and do come back.
A few months back I posted about Homemark scamming/spamming me over SMS.
Surprisingly months later I am still getting comments on this post from more and more people feeling the same way (OK and one dude who actually wasted R99 on a prize he won, some knives!).
So I decided that I needed to use my skills and get some more out this issue. I have emailed Homemark about the issue, my blog post and the over twenty people who agree with me and feel spammed. Let’s wait and see what they have to say.
If you have been scammed or spammed in a similar way, please comment on this post and lets build up as many complaints as possible.

I’m gobsmacked. I don’t know what to say. It’s going to sound like a tired song. I received a message about the bed, needless to say I was told to deposit the money, guess what, I received a single bed. I then felt cheated, but realised that I dod not enter the competition in the first place, secondly I neglected to ask the size. I guess tha’s the prize that one pays for ignorance. Today, 2007-12-13, I receive another one, this time they ask for credit card particulars. When I told Nomsa I am not at liberty to disclose such information and reminded her that the rest of my particulars should reflect as I have received the “Bed”. She promised to call back, and I am still waiting.
suggestion from my side, I have requested that my details be removed countless times, no luck there, so my next step is to try and find the CEO’s home number ( the CEO is AV Ovadia) and phone his home from midnight onwards to tell him thanks, but no thanks, prize not required
Hahahah, Graeme that’s a great idea!!
My partner was told he had won a smoothie machine which we wanted but were asked if we would like to purchase a blood pressure monitor. He said “no” as he is a pensioner and besides that does not want one. Subsequently received the blood pressure monitor (R499) and no smoothie maker. Who is going to pay for the postage to return it? When contacted, were told that agent LSD was out and would phone back. Still waiting…….
Got an SMS from HOMEMARK last year to say I had won a bed but when I called them I was told there was no stock and they offered me knives, which I declined. I was told to call again in the new year. Just called and chatted to William after taking all my details plus credit card info (stupid me!) he told me that it was my lucky day and rattled off a number of other products I could choose from. Finaly he told me they would be charging me R 498.00 - R 99 for delivery of the bed and for the pump. (What use is the bed without the pump?) I told him I was not prepared to pay R 500 and that he could keep his prizes. ONLY HOPE THAT MY CARD IS NOT DEBITED!
Just got the sms about the knives.Called Homemark, they told me about the R99 for P&P. This was strange to me because I’ve won competions before and never have I been asked to pay fo my “prize”.I told the guy, i’ll get back to him with my credit card details, then I googled them, which how i found out about this blog. Thanks a lot for the heads up… Come to think of it, I also did not enter for this Competition.
TREK GELD VAN VISA CARD.MAAR HET NIKS BESTEL NIE.WAG NOU 3 WEKE VIR TERUGBETALING.

Just spreading the word. Trying to get link backs to get the blog to the top of Google to warn people about the horrors of Homemark
I wrote a blog entry about this as well (somewhere in February after also “winning” a knife set) and got quite a few useful comments including one from somebody who’ve worked there. [http://blog.mycee.net/2008/02/01/homemark-scam/]
Keep on spreading the word, I have no respect for spammers and even less respect for Homemark!!
I also received a call “Congrats u have won a bed. I replied and phoned in to give my forwrding address to receive the so called winning. The bed was deivered and on top of all I had to pay R99-00 for the prize I won.
a few months later I received a big box with diamond pots which I had to pay R2500.
Today with a big suprise I received a box with a milex juicer. for R778.89.
The invoice indicated that the cost is R778-89. I never ordered the milex and checked my credit card, lo and behold the exact amount was deducted.
the invoiuce also show that I am a club member whic I never signed in for. The worst pat of it the calls came throuigh eleven year old daughter..The ampount of R35-00 is deducted at the end of each month.
