Faking it – Orgasms, iPods and more

by Nic Haralambous on 20/11/2007

Going to work today I realised that I was in the elevator with my iPod’s earphones in my ears but no music. I had forgotten to push play (or tap play in the case of the iPod touch!).

The most interesting thing happens in an elevator when people think that you can’t hear them, they immediately assume you can’t see them and that you don’t exist at all.

I have definitely done this before and on purpose to try and catch people unawares. I have managed to catch some interesting info out while people think I can’t hear them.

My question to you is:

What do you fake?

Anything at all? Nothing? You aren’t a faker? I want to know if it’s an orgasm or an illness.

An excellent question, and one I might pinch for my blog.

As for what I have faked…
    Orgasms
    Illnesses
    Acting busy
    Working
    Interest
    Excitement
    Sleep
    Love
    Like
    Life
    Boobs

Actually, I better stop now. Lets put it this way, I have faked a lot of stuff in my life. But most of it (besides the boobs), I keep real most of the time.

HAhahaha, ye, I guess I kept my list relative short, one thing! But I think you have a good point in general, there is a lot of faking that goes on daily!

I suppose it’s matter of what you regard as fake, necessary and lies. PLease post it on your blog I’d love to see what your readers say!

I hate having to fake it but I found it’s better to join them then bury them under the porch. I do the ear phone thing all the time and it’s intentional, people speak to you less when they think you’re lost in some tune

Ye, very true. I kinda like it when people speak to me less sometimes! :)

I fake not seeing Nics of the world in lifts with iPod earphones in their ears without sound on!

It makes them think I am playing at not seeing them when I really am but acting I cannot just to confuse them into thinking I am acting that I can’t but I can but they can’t know that I can.

I think. Maybe. Nothing like an assertive statement hey?!
