Hi and welcome to my blog! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting and do come back.
I have been watching an incredible expose on christians and the extremist christian warriors forming in the USA. Christina Amanpour takes on the leaders of these sects in various religions, not only christianity.
God’s Warriors is the title of the series. If these little children, teenagers and cooked up parents are the warriors then I want to know who I am battling? Is it them?
On to Ron Luce. I think that in the series it noted that he has a school, a bible school on 42hectares of land. His students pay $650 per month to be at this school.
Ironic his name don’t you think, Luce? Short for Lucifer? Interesting.
Anyways, I digress. Luce, let’s call him Luce, he charges these kids to attend his school where they can’t listen to any secular music, watch any rated movies or programmes and cannot read anything that isn’t approved. That is scary isn’t it? I think so. I also think that it is shocking that Luce has provided each student at his school with a computer and headset and asks them to sit, everyday, and preach the word of his lord to anyone they can get hold of on the phone.
That sounds incredibly to me like slave labour. Hell, it sounds worse than slave labour because at least slaves are paid. These kids are paying to be his slaves.
Throughout the entire programme on CNN there was a distinct lack of parental presence. All that I saw was young children shouting about the word of the lord, angrily fighting with gay people in San Francisco, violently protesting for their beliefs. I think it’s great that these kids are involved and believe in something. But I am vehemently against brainwashing of any sort. These kids looked brainwashed.
I cannot believe that anything this propagated can be good for anyone, for children, teenagers or adults. In fact, religion has done nothing for our world other than to create wars that have lasted centuries. Palestinians and Jews, The Crusades, US war on Iraq and many others. All inherently religious based wars. Where is the good?
Now we are roping in our youth without giving them a choice or an alternative. This scares me, the Battle Cry and God’s Warriors scare me, it is all very worrying.

I won’t comment much except to say thank God he and his warriors are in America.
Scary stuff. Talk about contradiction and being hypocrites!
Ouch!
I’m not sure you correctly analyzed CNN’s piece on BattleCry and the Honor Academy.
Let’s take a look…
he has a school, a bible school on 42hectares of land. His students pay $650 per month to be at this school.
It isn’t a school. It is an internship where teenagers raise support to be trained while gaining wisdom, discipline, and vision for their life.
he charges these kids to attend his school where they can’t listen to any secular music, watch any rated movies or programmes and cannot read anything that isn’t approved. That is scary isn’t it?
Not scary at all. The culture is what is scary. Honor Academy interns choose to take a year to seek God free from distractions, rather than remain in the cesspool of modern culture.
Luce has provided each student at his school with a computer and headset and asks them to sit, everyday, and preach the word of his lord to anyone they can get hold of on the phone.
Part of the internship experience is working 31-hours per week for Teen Mania while receiving professional development. Some interns work in our Contact Center, other work in marketing, the kitchen, security, grounds & maintenance, etc. Those who work on the phone don’t call random people and preach, they call youth pastors and teenagers about missions opportunities and live events heading to their area.
young children shouting about the word of the lord, angrily fighting with gay people in San Francisco, violently protesting for their beliefs.
There was no violence in San Francisco. Teen Mania met peacefully to protest and was welcomed by a bunch of freaks who yelled obscene comments and blew whistles to hinder Ron Luce’s speech. I guess free speech is one way.
I think it’s great that these kids are involved and believe in something. But I am vehemently against brainwashing of any sort. These kids looked brainwashed.
They may need their brain washed with all the junk they have allowed in. Teen Mania doesn’t brainwash people. We preach the word of God. God’s word says in Romans 12:2,”Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We teach them to renew their mind according to truth.
religion has done nothing for our world other than to create wars that have lasted centuries. Palestinians and Jews, The Crusades, US war on Iraq and many others. All inherently religious based wars. Where is the good?
What does Battle Cry have to do with war? The Battle Cry isn’t about waging war on other religions. Jesus taught the opposite. He told us to love our enemies; to do good to those that persecute you. This isn’t a religion. Religion is man’s attempt to get to God. What has captivated us is the amazing love of God who rescued us and redeemed our lives.
You say potato I say potahto.
You can tell me that I have incorrectly interpreted the CNN peice, but I wont agree. Ever. You are clearly talking about this as a christian and I am clearly talking about this as an athiest. Therein lies our problem.
I disagree with almost all that you have said, but it is your opinion and you are entitled to it. So be it!
Thanks for stopping by.
Finding God is all good, as long as you do not limit yourself to only one religion. Christian, Musleem, Hindu, Buddhist, Toaoist, Atheist or Other, you must see the reality in all of those traditions, there is the truth.

Wow, what a very onesided view of things .. Alright , to the author of this piece …I have watched the CNN report , and admittedly it would pressent a picture that Ron Luce and Battlecry is some occult organisation thats out to brainwash kids ..
well like the other respondant stated, these students volenterily choose to take up a year in the Honour academy and develop themselves to be better chirstians and leaders
As you say , you are an atheist commenting on a christian programme and organisation …You have no clue whatsoever ..
One of the main aspects to being a christian is Self discipline…
Have you seriously taken the time to think preceisly what this free choice is ..?
Secular music and media is polluted with rubbish ..spiritual and material ..
Do you want to give your kids the choce to listen to sexualy exsplicit lyrics Eg: I kissed a girl and I liked it..wear sexualy provokative clothing in their early teens , place their life mentoring from such people as Britney Spears, K-Fed and all these people …Drink , party , get pregnent ..
Thats a choice right …
or do you prefer SELF Dicipline and choosing the way of the lord .. Whether you belive in Christ or anything , thats your problem ..YOU WILL FACE YOUR CREATOR IN THE TIMES OF TRIBULATION …
but personaly Ron Luce is doing a hellvah fantastic job for many children and their parents ..as well as many others out there doing similar work .. waaa more than your next Cool hip hop artist …on Mtv
Nahtino - thanks for your comment. I disagree with everything you’ve written on principal.
You are leading an ignorant and sheltered life that i fear is not healthy for anyone.
“I kissed a girl and I liked it”… it must be satan. Are you kidding me? Are you living in the 1900’s? Or are you just a homophobe?
Your choices and decision are no better than mine so don’t make it sound as if they are.
I am not amoral, unethical, murderous or any other form of sin that you would like to mention. I am perfectly in touch with what is wrong and what is right and I am happy to report that I have managed this while banging my head to rock, rap-metal, heavy metal, hippity hop and any other music form you condemn.
Furthermore, do not assume that I am ignorant or hopeless because I am an atheist, get your facts straight before you start accusing people of things. I went to a catholic school and in fact was Head Prefect of that school. I was raised and Orthodox Greek and attended sunday school. I just educated myself and my decision accordingly.
My choices work for me. And it bugs me that christians find it acceptable to push their religion on me, but overreact when I push back.
