I like google in general, but it doens’t do a very good job of picking up my incoming links. It just relists all my posts. Respected or not, at least technorati did what it was supposed to.

Blogsearch seems to view my own blog entries as “incoming links”. That makes it rather worthless to me. If I get annoyed enough about it I’ll probably fix the code to put Technorati back in there.

Technorati is showing 48 distinct blogs that point to my http://occamsrazr.com – while Google Blogsearch only finds 32 total hits.

I was going to blog on this exact topic. I find Google Blog Search very irritating, it seems to track each of my new blog posts as a new incoming link to my blog. I’m not sure if this is because of my customized permalink structure, but it shouldn’t be the case. Plus it is missing a whole heap of the incoming links that Technorati was tracking.

Perhaps a Google buyout is on the cards?

Didn’t notice. I never really understood the obsession with rankings and stats.

One thing i did notice is that on my latest install of 2.3 – comments are off by default. Which blows.

I have to question this strategy… Not sure why WP would do this unless they felt Google could track incoming links quicker than Technorati – that could be the only logic in my mind.
