Im a food and a political vegetarian (according to nics definitions)and I heard a call into 5fm this morning from a woman who ISNT a vegetarian (of any kind)! She was bitching up a storm about this poor goat and how it was so “shocking” that they showed it dead on TV. She then went on to agree with the host of the radio show that she “really did enjoy a good steak”.

What the hell???? I do not eat meat because I do not need to to survive and at this point in my life I would not be prepared to kill a cow to get by burger. If people cannot even bear to see a dead goat on TV then they should not be allowed to eat meat. We have become to far removed from reality. We go into Woolworths and by a box with food in it, that is the extent to which our consciousness goes. If you eat meat - good for you - go right ahead - but dont bitch about seeing animals being slaughtered - that is the reality of the situation - beef does not grow from the ground wrapped in gladwrap and sealed in a woolworths box!
